Glee had it’s Spring Premiere party at Bar Marmont in Los Angeles, California, tonight (April 12). The cast were all decked out! Also in attendance: Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs, Molly Shannon, Jonathan Groff. Continue reading
Jonathan Groff will be playing Jesse St. James, the lead of New Horizons’s rival Vocal Adrenaline, and new love interest for Rachel Berry. Korbi talked to Jonathan at Paleyfest. See the video here:
“Idina Menzel [plays] the coach of Vocal Adrenaline, and I’m the lead singer,” Groff explains in the clip below. “I meet Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, in the first episode [in April] and we sort of have an immediate connection. I want to be a star just as much as she does. … Her character hasn’t met anyone like that yet, so it’s an interesting chemistry.
Here we’ve got the official guest star photo of Idina Menzel. Can’t wait to see her as the director of Vocal Adrenaline.

Here are some SPOILERy details on Neil Patrick Harris’s guest starring role on Glee from The Ausiello Files. The article also confirms that NPH will indeed be acting in the episode that will be directed by Joss Whedon (Dr. Horrible reunion!). Read on at your own risk!
According to a Glee insider, NPH will play Bryan Adam (ha!), a high school glee club nemesis of Will’s (Matthew Morrison) who resurfaces as a board member at William McKinley.
“Flashback scenes will show Bryan picking up girls and getting all the cool solos,” reveals the source, “while Will sits off in the sidelines.”
The stage for a present-day rematch is set when Harris’ character announces his intent to cut the arts programs at the school. “Show choir ruined his life, made him feel he could be a star, but all he could do is book Carnival cruises,” explains the insider. “Now he wants vengeance.”
The episode — which I’m told features a climactic duet between Harris and Morrison — goes before the cameras next week and is slated to air during May sweeps.

A duet with Neil Patrick Harris and Matthew Morrison? I AM IN!
Jessalyn Gilsig tells People that her dream guest star on Glee would be Bette Midler.
“Bette Midler should be on the show,” said Gilsig, who plays Terri Schuester, at the Costume Design Guild Awards Thursday. “I’d want her to be my aunt or something. You can imagine Bette Midler as a kid. She must have been one of these Glee kids. She must have been so misunderstood and struggled so much, but she’s driven the same way Rachel is driven. I think she would be a good fit.”

Are there any guest stars you would like to see on Glee?
E! Online’s Watch with Kristin brings us an update on the role that Neil Patrick Harris will be playing when he guest stars on Glee later this season.
This is what I’m hearing from Glee sources about Neil Patrick Harris‘ guest spot, which has been rumored for weeks but is now very much a done deal. In fact, as I type this to you, the script for Neil’s awesome episode is being written—yee!—and one Fox insider tells me: “The fans will love it.” So what will Neil play? Here’s what I’m hearing:
Hold on to your track pants, Sue Sylvester! ‘Cause one solid Glee insider tells me that Neil is playing a character who is “really funny and really mean.” I’m told he will be “much more of the Dr. Horrible variety than Doogie Howser, M.D.”
Legend…ary!
So it seems Glee‘s writers are smartly honing in on their comedy sweet spot: deliciously devious characters who can deliver those breathtaking LOL one-line zingers. (See: Jane Lynch, and now Molly Shannon, who is rumored to be playing an enemy to Sue.)
So where does Neil’s guest spot now stand? “When the news first broke that Neil was coming on,” one Fox insider says, “it really wasn’t happening at that point and nothing was written. But things changed fast, as they do.”
That said, we’ll know more details when the ink on Neil’s ep has dried. But the good news is that the ink has definitely dried on his contract, and we’ll get the great flavors of NPH and Glee together in very late spring.

Did you know that Sue Sylvester wasn’t even a character in the first draft of the Glee pilot? Did you know Jane Lynch as Sue will be singing “Let’s Get Physical” in an upcoming episode with Olivia Newton John? These and other fun tidbits are available in this video interview with Jane, by Korbi at Zap2It. Watch the whole thing here!
I think that Jane Lynch is pure brilliance.
You probably recognize Scott from Friday Night Lights, but he got his start off-Broadway in Altar Boyz and was also a member of Hugh Grant’s 80s pop band in Music and Lyrics. And it seems that Scott was approached to audition for Glee way back when to be a series regular. While he has the TV and musical background, he turned it down because he thought he was too old and now he is regretting that decision. Here is what he told Parade.
He could have stayed in high school.
“Oh man, I really want to kick myself in the face for Glee because I kind of did the stupid actor thing where you go, ‘Okay, I’m at a certain point in my life now where I only want to play this guy or that guy.’ When Glee was casting, I thought, ‘I’m too old to be a student. I need to stop playing high-school kids.’ Then it came out and Ryan Murphy was like, ‘We’ve got a bunch of adults playing kids, but we don’t care, that’s our show.’ Cory Monteith is X amount of years old and he’s playing a high schooler. So I was like, ‘Dang it, I should have gone for it.'”Ain’t too proud to beg for another chance.
“Now I’m, like, at the back door knocking, ‘Can I please come in and play on the Glee set because I beat box, I sing, I dance.’ If music’s gonna be involved, that’s my thing. I got my start in the Off-Broadway cast of Altar Boyz, so I’m like pitching ideas daily to Glee. I think it’s such a unique show. God, I love it. So there you have my regrets. I’ve laid them out on the table.”

I would love if they could find even a guest role for Scott. I want to see what he’s made of! See Scott in Dear John and Caprica.
